Dave & Alison's Big Flyout Trip

What a cool trip we just did! The day after Alison and Dave's wedding my climbing buddy Bryan and I teamed up to help them plan a mega-sweet 4-day flying/camping/hiking/fishing/rafting trip for them and 8 of their friends. We flew out of Lake Hood in both an Otter and a Beaver on floats and landed out at Carmen lake at the end of the Twentymile River. The flight out was under sunny skies and the weather was warm and perfect. The next few days were spent eating lots of really good food, making a long and tedious bushwhack through a devils club forest to see the glacial lake 2 miles away, catching dolly vardon and trout from the lake, hiking along the lake, playing bocce ball, and finally the last day ended with a cold and wet float down the Twentymile River to the Seward Highway where we were picked up and shuttled back to Anchorage. I think the group had a "real" Alaskan experience and it was fun for Bryan and I to share our version of an Alaska Vacation. If any of our future brides or grooms would like to plan a trip like this for their friends, let us know and we'll get the logistics lined up! You'll have a good time for sure, see the pictures for proof!
